On July 23, 2025, the White House rolled out a high-impact Executive Order titled “Preventing Woke AI in the Federal Government.” This policy mandates that any generative AI (LLMs) acquired by federal agencies must adhere to two core requirements:
- Truth‑Seeking: AI must produce factual and objective responses, prioritize scientific and historical accuracy, and openly admit uncertainty when data is incomplete or conflicting.
- Ideological Neutrality: AI systems must remain nonpartisan and unbiased, avoiding embedded ideological agendas—such as DEI-related content—unless explicitly prompted or clearly in scope.
The Order directs the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to issue detailed guidance within 120 days and requires agencies to integrate compliance clauses into new and existing contracts.
