Pyramid Achieves ISO 20000 and ISO 27001 Certifications

Fairfax, VA – Pyramid Systems, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions for federal government clients, recently achieved the International Standards Organization (ISO) 27001:2013 certification for its Information Security Management System, and the ISO 20000-1:2011 certification for its Service Management System. Both standards improve Pyramid’s capabilities to deliver high quality Information Technology (IT) services to current and future customers.

“We are pleased to achieve these important certifications,” stated Jeff Hwang, CEO and Co-Founder of Pyramid Systems. “Both ISO 20000 and ISO 27001 complement our CMMI Level III Development certification, and further demonstrate our commitment to provide our customers with the highest quality of information security and service management.”

The ISO 27001 standards mandates specific management processes that must be in place to control security risks to information systems. To become certified, a company must implement the mandated controls and undergo a formal audit that confirms they are compliant with them. The ISO 20000 standards specify requirements for a service provider to plan, establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and improve a Service Management System. The requirements include the design, transition, delivery and improvement of services to fulfill agreed service requirements. To become certified, Pyramid underwent an extensive preparation and evaluation process that included development of both systems, an internal audit, and the official Stage 1 (Documentation Review) and Stage 2 (Implementation) audits.
